OMG - Where to start?

Umm, Stephanie and I met and were an "issue" way way back (30 years or so). Due to circumstances at the time - we parted. For me it was "unfinished business" and over the years I had often wondered what had become of her. All I knew was, she had moved to Devon and had a daughter... From there I had no idea where she was.

Out of the blue, a couple of years ago - She tried to contact me through Friends Reunited. It was well over 6 months before I found her e-mail and again we missed each other. Top marks to her persistence - She called me up last week... "I bet you can't guess who this is!"

That night we chatted for over 5 hours on the phone and what a whirlwind of laughs it was. It was very obvious we certainly HAD to meet up again.

With no time wasting, our meet was planned for mere days away... I spent the days in a complete haze and set out on Friday to stay at her house for the weekend.

The first hello hug and kiss blew me away, I cant speak for her but it was one of the most surreal moments I've had.

Within minutes we were totally relaxed, within 1/2 hour it was as if we had only been apart for 2 weeks. By the end of the first day we agreed that our intervening partners were the emotional equivalent of "treading water" - how we laughed at "yeah he/she was fine - but I had to make allowances".

Come back soon, much more to add

2nd trip - Boy oh boy, I went back to visit Steph again... Reality, I couldn't stay away. Being there was something special, although we only really had one whole day to ourselves - it was more than worth it. I can't put in words how much fun we had. This trip was more about re-acquainting with each other and not "catching up", Its for sure we are still of the same mold as we were all those years ago.

3rd trip - Biking again,  the weather was good and so are the local roads! No traffic!! (compared to here). Apart from one 'lil hic-cup where Steph wasn't well on Monday, we had a great time. In fact, her  not being well meant I stayed an extra 2 days :)) Its strange comparing things from Bourne to London... Some things are dearer in Bourne...hmmm.  Sainsburys  IS dearer, the Post Office clerks are officious, and some 3rd party parking company are more than anal. (thanks for the scrape & dent on the bike). Yet despite the odd happening, 95% of the people I have met are great.
(more to add,  come back soon)

Thanks to Anne, Nikki, Trish & Kevin, Jason, Chris and others - for the welcome, kind words and hospitality

The smiffy bachelor pad has been invaded! LOL. Steph spent a weekend here... We saw a few sights, visited a few markets - Camden and a couple of local ones, went out for a splendid Indian meal, saw a friends band, visited a few of my friends, she caught up with a few ppl she knows from down here in her old stomping ground... We even went and had a snog in the pub we used to go to when we were dating all those years ago :)) Quite a busy weekend really, an altogether excellent time - even the weather was splendid!
